Every now and then I crave a huge hopefully GREAT... steak... this place always fits the bill...its loud...fast...casual...and so affordable...you get a great steak... I usually get the largest steak i can...med rare...rib eye...new york...or porter house always make me grin...nice green salad...fresh steamed veggies... I..... had the largest rib eye...cook perfect...cut like butter...all was basic...fresh... My hubby had a large NY...it filled our craving...and we agreed it satisfied our need... Also added bonus... the snack peanuts in the shell...i'm a peanutholic...bad...only thing in our high humidity they get soggy fast... Our service was fast...friendly...and for a chain...it is consistent...sides can be small...i always order double veggies...

Food was awesome! Service was a bit slow. Loved the rolls, potato skins. My steak was cooked to perfection!!!!!

Pretty good food. I get the chicken critters with fries and a salad. Love their ranch and of course their rolls! Everytime I've came i have had to wait 15-20 minutes but it's worth it. Nice staff, good food and reasonable prices!

This use to be my favorite family restaurant until today. I purchased 2 grilled chicken salads to go & got home to what appears as "left over salad." Apparently they went "lite" on the lettuce, which was withered anyhow. Next time I will check my food before I leave.

I had to come to Charleston due to an early morning meeting. We went looking for a place to eat dinner and decided to go to Texas Roadhouse. I was in the mood for a good steak. The girl that greeted us and seated us had a frown on her face .... Not very welcoming. She must have been having a bad day. The waitress we had, Jaren, was so good. She gave us first class service! Very attentive! Constantly checking with us.... She was EXCELLENT! 5 Stars to her. As soon as they brought my steak out she wanted me to cut into it, and check to make sure it was cooked to perfection. I cut it, and she immediately knew it was cooked wrong. She sent it back. I received another steak that was cooked to perfection. Jaren was the best waitress you could ask for. Great customer service skills. I also love the roasted peanuts that Texas Roadhouse offers. And their rolls! My husbands ribs were a little overcooked. He only ate about half of them. I guess that's what you get for ordering ribs at a steak place. ... He regretted not getting a steak. For a chain restaurant... I enjoyed my meal. I'd eat here again!

I just love places like this. Yeah, it's a chain but the food is always consistent and the staff and bartenders are always fun to chat with and some even can get you to laugh through out your evening. The beers are freezing cold in huge mugs and you can eat as many peanuts that you like. I almost feel like i'm at a ball game cracking open peanuts and tossing them on the ground. Something just wonderfully fun about that as an adult. :) The rolls and butter are also a big highlight. Obviously, pick your favorite cut of meat, tell them how to prepare it and then suck down some beers until that puppy shows up underneath your nose. Then stab, cut, insert into mouth, and repeat.

Peanuts were welcoming and unexpected. The warm/sweet dinner rolls were delicious. My Steak was well seasoned, perfectly cooked to juicy perfection , and tender. The staff was attentive and courteous. My treat and surprise was when the staff began to dance...very entertaining. Kudos!

Fantastic server, she had been here for 14 years! Excellent quality of food and well priced. The sirloin was cooked perfectly.

Our waiter was very pleasant and served us well. The food was good, but I do agree with @markh. It's nothing you couldn't cook at home. After our meal was done we got our check. Left the guy a good tip (20%) and left. (There is a reason for that comment, wait for it. Lol.) The next morning we are on our 12 hour drive trip and noticed two charges to our card that we never made in GA. We've never even been to GA. My husbands card doesn't always swipe so you know that process. Well that "pleasant waiter" used our card number to go buy 100 dollars worth of food and stuff in GA. I hope he gets fired and fined. Texas Roadhouse, you need to do a better job at screening your help.

Best grilled pork chops in town! and green beans..fresh tasting. .mashed potatoes good also. Their rolls and spread are great and they aren't stingy with them like some places...they ask you if you want more, too. Great, friendly service. I'll definitely have to come here more often & get take-outs...it's so close to my house.

I've eaten here over the past 5 years. My BF loves this place. I've always thought they were average. We are here sometime after the New Year..I was impressed! We both thought they got a new chef! Let me say, service was incredible. The food delish & served right on time. We like the rolls...actually I think the man in my life lusts after them. So what gives with 3 stars? This review is all about my to-go order. Well...I called an order in & was on hold for a while. No worries, Im on the way there. I walk in & the hostess tells me proceed to the to-go wait stand. I do...& the two ladies standing there divert in 2 different directions...for real? I call my S/O & suggest anything but this place. He clicks over & calls with me on the line, stating he'll pay over the phone, I pick it up...no biggie. He's placed on hold...curious , I walk through the door & there is a person standing at the to-go stand staring off into space. No doubt...she's in a steak haze, hypnotized by the smell of delishness permeating the place. I just hang up as he & I are still on hold. I tell her Id like to make a to-go order. She looks at me blankly, then passes the message to a young lady who walks up. The same one who looked at me, then scampered away 5 minutes earlier. Ugh... I won't be back anytime soon. I'm sure the S/O will request this place during his mid-tour visit. Hopefully I'll leave a better review. My eat-in experience food, service, etc earlier this month...were fantastic! The food, I ordered however...was again fantastic! I'm still middle of the road on this place...I'll update upon my return, it will be a few months!

I usually go to resturants like this for thir rolls and I am soo happy they switched their bread to rolls a few years back. Now I can enjoy that cinnamon butter to the fullest. I usually get steak or burgers never really had a problem with the food taste.

Steak was a little over done, but still good. Service was good as well and the family tore up the peanuts and bread. Best bang for the buck!

This is a great chain restaurant for steaks. Medium price point. Great for kids. Delicious rolls with cinnamon butter. Plus you can call ahead for seating. The kids love the peanuts and rolls. Tried the chili for the first time and was happy. The steaks are always cooked as ordered and if not they have no problem replacing it.

This is a great restaurant with great food, even when they are busy (which is 99% of the time). The food is served hot and on time. The service is not too much nor too little. There is a great balance in enjoying your company and enjoying the service. The only con is that there has been two times I have found a long piece of hair in my mashed potatoes. They did, however, make the meal complementary. Would recommend.

Fabulous food! Fabulous waitstaff! We've never had a bad meal here. Everything is fresh, well seasoned and the portions are good for the price that you pay. The kids meals come in different sizes. You can get a smaller kids meal (for the little ones) and then they offer the Ranger meals which are for upper elementary aged appetites. They also offer special pricing if you dine before 6pm. Very fairly priced. I would love to see honey butter as an option for the yeast rolls in addition to the cinnamon butter. Yum!

  • Ashley H.

Early dine special is 8.99 and they are great for kids! Whole bill was under 40 for a party of 4. Friendly service! Love the yeast rolls and peanuts, fun family vibe! It is a chain but the employees are really friendly and the place is clean.

The customer service was pretty good. My boyfriend ordered a steak medium and it was definitely well done. I mentioned it to the waitress and the manager came over to apologize and only charged us for half the steak. There were a couple of birthdays in the house and the way they celebrated it was kind of weird. They screamed "everyone stop what your doing finish what your chewing and yell hee haw!" Maybe some people like it but not my style for a birthday celebration.

I have eaten here twice now and both times I was impressed. To be honest I was not expecting very good things, but the staff here truly have their act together. The only down side is that both times we have come here the side dishes have been a bit cold, as if they had been dethawed but not heated. There are free peanuts (sort of stale, but free) and amazing bread!

A little embarrassed to admit that we were here twice within the same week! Once for a family dinner and then an unexpected birthday celebration. We are new to the area, but familiar with Texas Roadhouse. Both times we've dined at this location, we were seated immediately (once on a Friday night) and the service was excellent. Like others have stated, if you dine M-Th before 6pm, they have a special menu that you can pick from that include meals and sides for $8.99. Happy hour M-F until 7pm, $1.99 drafts, can't beat that. Rolls - well they pretty much speak for themselves, and I think everyone I know is a fan! The food is consistent at every TRH, so I had no worries when ordering my usual, the Dallas Filet. It came out perfectly cooked and the sweet potato with brown sugar, cinnamon and marshmallows was divine! I'm always torn between a salad or the green beans, but luckily my husband always gets the green beans (slow cooked with onions and bacon!!!) so I can get my fix if I need to! I tried the Roadkill my second time here, it was a first for me, and came out great. Mashed potatoes and gravy are just right. The location is a little off the beaten path, you would think it would be closer to the mall just down the street, but that's better in the long run because there would definitely be a longer wait time. My only complaint - and it's with every TRH is that they're not open for lunch!!!

You enter Texas Roadhouse. You are offered to "select your steak" and decline. You are brought to your seat in the packed restaurant. While looking over the menu you sense the foul smell from either the table or another nearby customer. Undeterred you order your drink and your food. After your food has arrived you dive in to a steak a little better than what you can cook at home as well as uninspired sides. You notice all the flies as you eat. Still undeterred you finish your meal and pay. Not the best dining experience I have had in the world but not the worst. I may try to go back on a not busy night if those exist to give it one more shot. The cinnamon butter they give with their free house rolls is absolutely delicious.

I can't believe this was my first time to this place. It's amazing the price of the meal, the specials, the margaritas, the free peanuts, the atmosphere. You've gotta try it before you make opinions of it. If it wasn't such a long drive I could see myself going here more often. This restaurant is a staple in other towns all across the country.

They don't tell you that their "house salad" has egg. That's a chef salad, people. How do I know to say "no egg" if I don't know there's egg on the salad? Waitress was nice though.

Since new management, place has fallen apart.3tries to get meal right, sent mixed drinks back, took manager 2trips and 30 minutes to remove 2 drinks from our bill. Use to eat there twice a week, went back three times to let them redeem themselves, no dice

Texas Roadhouse is pretty decent. Their steaks are usually on point, staff is friendly and food is consistently tasty. Don't expect to get your mind blown with the chef's creativity or their beautifully displayed edible art. This is a chain resto, and judged as such, they do what they do well. And the prices are good too. On this trip, everyone thought their food was tasty and cooked to their liking.

I'm going to write a review as my experience continues. Today they opened late, opening the doors minutes after the opening hour. With customers waiting to come in, it should be a known courtesy to open the doors 10 or so minutes early. As for the drinks, they have coke products and not that many of them to choose from. So far, no bread. The waiter seems to be hating life and is just taking our orders and walking off with no welcoming comments. The burger was less than good and they got my order wrong. My mom hated their catfish and my wife hated their chili. Overpriced low quality food.

The dinner rolls are worth 10 stars by themselves! Amazing fast service, food is always on point, especially for the reasonable price. I'd say Texas Roadhouse is the best chain restaurant in the USA. I could do without the roadhouse dancing from the waitresses though.

We went here for a friend's B-day dinner, and there were a ton of people in our group. The servers were very attentive and nice, and the food was excellent! We would definitely return. (The waitresses line dance on the hour too... haha)

Can't seem to get a steak right. How do you mess up a prime rib??? All you have to do is cut in the right place!

We have been going to this chain in different parts of the U.S. Pretty much the same. First quality beef from their own in house butchers and lots of good and reasonable priced choices. I personally love the peanuts! The waitresses are very attentive and keep your drinks filled. One thing was different was the Texas line dancing which not ,any of the locations were doing.

The dinner rolls of course were a hit! I was here with my boyfriend while I was in the area visiting. We went on a Saturday night and waited about 20 minutes for a table, which is no biggie when you're surrounded by barrels of peanuts! They sat us at a booth for two. We both got beer, he got Bud in a tall glass ( the size was somewhere between 14 and 22 oz.) which cost $4.50 and I got Blue Moon in the same size glass for $5.50. I ordered The Grilled BBQ Chicken sandwich and he got the Bacon Cheeseburger. Both entrees were excellent and our waiter was cool! Happy stomachs= happy date night! I will definitely return in the future :)

This restaurant is located in N Charleston across from Super Kmart on Rivers Avenue. We have been going to this restaurant for the last 4 to 5 years. The food is great, the atmosphere is festive and they let you throw peanut shells all over the floor. The wait staff is exceptional as well.
